Cornwall Regions "Rumble on the Runway" - 19th July 2014

Hi Folks,
I am finally able to release details of our big TVR gathering in Cornwall this year which has been named "Rumble on the Runway"
Why the reference to the Runway ?
Well, the chosen venue for the main event is the "Classic Air Force" museum at St. Mawgan, Nr. Newquay. We have been able to secure this venue for our event thanks to the efforts of Cornwall region member Roger Clapp who is a member of staff there. The event was initially devised as a large local gathering of local TVR's that was set to coincide with the now annual visit of our good friends from the WWM region. However it has grown (as these things tend to do) and is now being opened up to the wider TVR membership.
It is all set to happen on Saturday 19th July 2014 and it will take the format of a TVR gathering/show during the day and a BBQ party/social gathering at The Bowgie Inn at Crantock nr. Newquay during the evening. The main event at the "Classic Air Force" museum will commence at 09:30 and comprise a gathering of cars and owners, with a "show and shine" competition with modest prizes for the winners, trader village, TVR race car exhibits, some ex-factory special guests and also some surprises. We are expecting somewhere in the region of 100 cars.
Those who wish can enter the aircraft museum for a reduced entry fee of £5 and even take a flight in one of the historic aircraft (for an extra fee) if the weather permits. Around midday there will also be an opportunity to experience a spirited drive on the best of Cornish roads on our specially chosen 58 mile "run out" route that incorporates an interesting stopping off point. So ensure you arrive with plenty of fuel on board.
I have added some links below to the venue itself, the pub where the evening event will be held and the campsite on which many of us will be staying.

There is no requirement to book up for the main event at the "Classic Air Force" museum you can literally turn up and join in.
However there is a requirement to book up for the evening party/BBQ and the camping. For party/BBQ and camping bookings please contact WWM region RO Steve Guest and his lovely wife Ginny via the threads on the WWM region forum as they have kindly offered to take on these duties for everyone except Cornwall region members.
If you are from Cornwall please contact me as I will sort out the local team/mob. So reach for your diary now and write "Rumble on the Runway" in big letters across the weekend of 19th/20th July as you wont want to miss this.
Regards Andy, Cornwall RO (07815) 876105

Castle Hill Car festival - 9th-10th Aug 2014

Dear all,The Castle Hill Car Festival is being held on Saturday & Sunday 9th/10th August at Filleigh, EX32 0RH. This is in north Devon, just off the A361 between Barnstaple and South Molton.
Among the usual attractions (Classic vehicle displays, trade stands, stunt planes, helicopter rides as well as arena events, kids entertainment and castle visits) there will be a Track Sprint Challenge on a 0.8 mile track organised by the North Devon Motor Club at a cost of £40 for 1 day or £70 for 2 days (no competition licence required). There is a good spectator area if you prefer just watching others thrash their rides.
The usual entrance fee is £15 per day or £22 for the weekend with camping available for £10 per pitch per night. However, this reduces to just £5 entrance (whether 1 or 2 days) if we can muster at least 10 cars for a TVRCC area. On top of this, if you fancy camping, the £10 cost will cover your tent for the weekend.
This is a great deal for club members for a car event that offers more than most. Last year's festival was their first event and was extremely well organised and well attended. This year's promises to be even better - so get it in your diary and clear the weekend!
If you are interested in attending then I will need names and registration numbers before the end of June. Signal your interest by posting on the forum or call me on 07736 167 370.
Let's put TVR on the map in Devon's premier classic car event!
